The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

This is not really animation related, but it's my blog and I'll do what I want to...

I saw a screening of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford last night. I know the title is ridiculously long, but once you see the movie - it makes sense because it's as much about the relationship
of these two individuals as it is about the murder of Jesse James. If you like old school film making that takes it's time setting up the story and characters and pushes those anxious, intense moments - this is your movie.

Honestly, it's hard to imagine a better film coming out this year. The cinematography is stunning. The casting and acting are so well done...and it didn't matter how many gunshots happened, I still jumped at every one of them. You know the Foley guy had fun. Even Nick Cave makes and appearance singing a little diddy. There are some visual effects there by CIS that deserve a nod, as well.
