To celebrate this holiday, we're going to start selling copies of The Bible. We originally printed these up for the Alternative Press Expo, and have a bunch of copies to share!

When we first put the comic online, a lot of you had asked about getting your own copy... NOW YOU CAN! The comic is in FULL COLOR and 44 pages of catechism and Sharpie-madness bible stories!

We're selling them for 5 BUCKS (4 for the booklet, 1 for shipping).

Sadly, no paypal for this, but if you want one just email us at samehat @ gmail.com and we'll send you details on where to send that LINCOLN. Please include an address where we can send the book (DUH!).

WELCOME BACK to SAME HAT!

We've been truant, missing-in-action, and generally as busy as killah bees. I had a rough February that kept me offline for a bit, and Evan has been kicking his own ass to create mega-beautiful illustrated-photos (that keep getting more and more incredible!) and original comics for your consumption. More recently, I've been muddling through the last half of our Junji Ito epic (our longest story yet) and planning layout for THE BIBLE & SAMEHAT BOOKLET.

In SF on April 8-9, our KREW is going by 'The Bang Gang' and we'll be sharing a space with our massively talented friends: Derek, Hellen, and Anthony . We'll also be selling some GOODS! They are:

THE BIBLE!

Evan and I have collaborated on countless, weirdo pursuits but this post details our first ever ORIGINAL COMIC COLLABORATION!

The idea for this comic was birthed while sitting over cheese fries and Dr. Peppers at the Lucky Penny diner in SF. Something Evan said-- Jesus descending from heaven on a flaming cloud to impart the 10 Commandments?! -- cracked me up. Myself, I was raised Irish-Catholic and got a weekly dose of catechism (fire, brimstone and transubstantiation) from age 10 to 14. Evan was lucky enough to miss all that fun stuff with a non-religious upbringing: no sermons, first eucharist or bedtime bible stories. It's all junk that I take for granted, but HE DOESN'T KNOW THIS STUFF.

So we decided to have Evan retell the Bible to me, as he thought it went. I quizzed him along the way, and he patched together pieces of stories he heard over the years, along with a crazy pop culture mish-mash of Dante, Sandman and Preacher comics, and even Roman mythology. As a rule, I never confirmed or denied any of his Bible tales-- I just put down his words as... well, GOSPEL TRUTH!

We'd really appreciate any comments/feedback! It will be online for at least a week, and will also be available in hard copy for anyone interested. Maybe 3 bucks an issue? If you'd want an actual copy, leave a note or send us a message directly at samehat @ gmail.com!

In other news, Evan and I are currently working on an ORIGINAL comic, and have finished 4 pages as of tonight. It's less Junji Ito, and more Sergio Aragonés-goes-to-catechism. Lots of plagues, nudity and carpentry. We'll give more details when we get a bit closer to posting it online!
